The Prince George’s Police Department is currently investigating a triple shooting with one young child victim. PGPD reports that its officers responded to the 4500 block of Akron Street for a shooting around 7:50 p.m. on July 4, 2024.

PGPD says at least three people have been injured in the incident. One of the victims is a young child. The child victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. An adult male victim suffered what is believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The third victim suffered a graze wound. No other details are available at this time.
