The Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting on Monday. According to a news release from PGCP, the victim has been identified as 57-year-old Donald Head. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case. Just before 8:30 AM on November 27, 2023, officers responded to a shooting in the 1700 block of Kenilworth Avenue in an unincorporated section of Capitol Heights.

At the scene, officers located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital where he passed away a short time later. Detectives are working to identify a suspect and a motive. Detectives say they do not believe this was a random crime based on the preliminary investigation.
