Prince George’s County Police have announced an arrest in a recent murder. PGPD’s Homicide Unit reports that 32-year-old Rene Pop Chub has been charged in connection to the murder of his brother, 45-year-old Crisantos Pop Chub.
Around 11:30 p.m. on August 16, 2024, officers responded to the 500 block of Shady Glen Drive for a report of a fight. At the scene, police found an unconscious victim and another victim. Both were transported to an area hospital.
On August 30, 2024, Crisantos Pop Chub passed away. PGPD says the preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect pushed the victim during an argument causing the victim to fall and hit his head.
The second victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Rene Pop Chub has been charged with Second-Degree Murder and other charges. He is being held by the Department of Corrections with no bond.
