The Prince George’s County Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in a fatal road rage shooting in Oxon Hill. The Homicide Unit identified the suspect as 46-year-old Michael Derrington. He is charged in the shooting of 47-year-old Neris Requeno Rodriguez of Temple Hills.

Officers responded to the 6000 block of Oxon Hill Road in reference to a shooting just before 6 PM on November 30, 2023. Upon arrival, officers found a victim in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a hospital where he passed away several hours later.

Detectives say the preliminary investigation revealed that Derrington shot Rodriguez during a road rage incident. Derrington is in the custody of the Department of Corrections and is charged with first and second degree murder as well as related charges.
