Prescott man charged with Attempted Homicide after domestic violence incident kills unborn baby

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reports that its deputies responded to a home in the Prescott area for a report of a domestic dispute on the morning of October 27, 2024. Authorities say it is believed that a Prescott man had thrown his pregnant wife to the floor.

YCSO says there was trauma to the female victim’s abdomen. The husband was arrested for Assault charges before being booked into the Yavapai County Jail. Initially, the female victim refused medical attention at the scene.

Police say she admitted herself to the hospital where she was informed that the 6 – 8 week unborn child was deceased after having signs of viability a few days prior. The County Attorney’s Office has added an attempted homicide charge against the husband.

YCSO confirms that further investigation is being conducted that could result in additional charges. YCSO is not releasing the name of the suspect at this time to protect the identity of the victim.
