Update – Portland Police have identified the victim killed in a stabbing on the Steel Bridge as 38-year-old Fernando Luis Aguirre. The Medical Examiner determined that the victim died of homicide by stabbing. 31-year-old Noor Baheej is charged with 2^nd Degree Manslaughter in the case.

Original – The Portland Police Bureau is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Friday. According to a PPB media release, Central Precinct officers responded to a stabbing on the pedestrian path of the Steel Bridge around 1:13 p.m. on March 15, 2024. At the scene, responding officers found an adult male victim with serious injuries.

The man was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Homicide Unit responded to the scene to investigate. Tom McCall Waterfront Park is closed near the Steel Bridge and the pedestrian crossing over the bridge is closed during the investigation. No additional details are available at this time.
