Update – Portland Police have identified the victim in the fatal shooting in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood on August 19, 2024. PPB reports that the victim is 50-year-old Lorenzo U. Miranda. The family is requesting privacy at this time.

The Medical Examiner determined that Miranda died of homicide by gunshot wound. No other details are available at this time.

Original – Portland Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday night. PPB reports that East Precinct officers responded to a shooting in the 12000 block of Southeast Division Street around 7:35 p.m. on August 19, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found an adult male victim who had been seriously injured. Lifesaving measures were taken, but the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. PPB’s Homicide Unit responded to investigate.
