Portland Police investigating death following welfare check on Southeast 106th Avenue

The Portland Police Bureau announced it is investigating following a death on Southeast 106th Avenue. Around 10:53 p.m. on January 8, 2024, East Precinct officers responded to a call for a welfare check in the 2400 block of Southeast 106th Avenue. At the scene, officers found a deceased male.

At this time, police have not arrested or detained anyone. Portland Police Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 503-823-2087.

As the investigation continues, Southeast 106th Avenue will be closed near Southeast Stephens Street to Southeast Division Street.
