A man is facing serious charges following a shooting and stabbings in Portland, Oregon. The Portland Police Bureau reports that East Precinct officers responded to a reported shooting in the 10400 block of Southeast Clinton Street around 8:42 p.m. on May 22, 2024.
At the scene, officers learned that an adult male had been shot by a known suspect. The suspect also slashed a female neighbor in the hand and menaced another with the knife. Police learned the suspect was still in the area.
Officers found the suspect who fled on foot. While fleeing from police, the suspect allegedly used a knife to stab another neighbor in the neck. Officers arrested the suspect after using a Taser. The gunshot victim was shot in the shoulder.
He was treated at an area hospital before being released. An adult female was slashed with a knife and self-treated the injury. The second stabbing victim was treated at an area hospital and released.
PPB says the suspect suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the hand during the event. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. 29-year-old Tyler Valenzuela Price was released from the hospital on May 25, 2024.
He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. Price is charged with Four counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Three counts of Assault in the Second Degree, Four counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Two counts of Menacing.
