Portland dog attack leaves six-year-old boy dead and adult female injured at home on NE 112th Avenue

Portland Police are investigating a dog attack that left a six-year-old boy dead on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. According to a Portland Police Bureau press release, officers responded to a home in the 1800 block of Northeast 112th Avenue in the Parkrose Heights neighborhood around 7:38 AM on December 5 in reference to a dog attack.

Authorities determined that a pair of dogs mauled a six-year-old and an adult female who attempted to stop the attack. The six-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to authorities. The adult female was transported to a local hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

After further investigation, officers learned that the woman injured is the owner of the dogs. The young victim killed by the dogs is her friend’s grandson. Authorities believe the dogs are Great Dane-Mastiff mixes. The dogs are in the custody of Multnomah County Animal Services.
