The Port Hueneme Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 2600 block of Anchor Avenue. PHPD officers responded to the aforementioned location regarding shots fired around 11:57 p.m. on July 4, 2024.

PHPD says the investigation indicated that an unknown person or persons fired shots in the east alley off Anchor Avenue hitting a mailbox and a residence wall. No injured individuals were located as a result of the shooting.
