Port Gibson Police arrest suspect for auto burglary

The Port Gibson Police Department has arrested a 46-year-old man in connection to an auto burglary on Mark Street. The Port Gibson Police Department reports that it arrested Joshua John Bell for an auto burglary that occurred on Mark Street on June 21, 2024.

PGPD says Bell fled the area following the burglary but was found hiding under the Bayou Pierre Bridge on Church Street. Bell was apprehended and transported to the police department.

Following an interview, PGPD says an investigator was able to locate and recover all the stolen items. Bell reportedly told PGPD he was from Birdsboro, Pennsylvania and did not have relatives in the Port Gibson area.

Bell is behind held at the Claiborne County Sheriff Department.
