The Plano Police Department has announced the arrest of a 21-year-old Plano man in connection to the slaying of 43-year-old Mohamadou Thera. Officers with the Plano Police Department responded to a shooting in the 3300 block of P Avenue around 10:30 PM on December 6, 2023.

Upon arrival, officers found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Plano Fire and Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have identified the victim as 43-year-old Mohamadou Thera of Sherman, Texas.

On December 7, 2023 around 1 PM, the Plano Police Department arrested 21-year-old Jaheim Kemp of Plano. Authorities say murder charges are pending. The incident is still under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
