The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department said in a social media post that Zone 3 Pittsburgh Police had responded to a home invasion in the Knoxville neighborhood. Around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Orchard Place for a reported home invasion.
At the scene, officers found that an adult male victim and an adult female victim were in the residence when three to five male suspects forced entry into the home. One suspect was carrying a rifle while two others were brandishing handguns.
The male victim was pistol-whipped. Although he was evaluated at the scene, he was not transported to the hospital. The female victim suffered superficial facial injuries but denied medical care. PPSD reports that the suspects stole $200 in cash, a handgun, and the car keys from the victims before fleeing in the victim’s car.
The stolen vehicle is described as a blue Honda Accord. It was recovered a short time later in Arnold. The suspects are still at large.
