According to a social media post from the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department, Pittsburgh Police and EMS responded to the 7200 block of Frankstown Avenue after receiving an eight-round Shot Spotter alert around 11 p.m. on February 8, 2024. At the scene, officers found a 53-year-old male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. PPSD said a nearby convenience store had also been damaged by gunfire. The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence from the scene and will review all available video footage.
