The Pittsburgh Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting. The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department reports that Pittsburgh Police responded to the 100 block of Amanda Street for reports of a shooting outside the Triangle Mart around 3:45 p.m. on July 24, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found a 51-year-old man at the lower rear door of the store suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition.

The victim later succumbed to his injuries. Violent Crime Unit detectives have assumed control of the investigation and are reviewing available video. The Mobile Crime Unit is processing evidence at the scene.
