The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department reported on social media that Zone 5 Pittsburgh Police responded to an armed robbery inside a business in the 6100 block of Penn Avenue around 4:45 p.m. on June 8.
PPSD says a man walked into the store with what appeared to be a long gun before demanding money. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident. PPSD says the weapon turned out to be a BB gun which was left behind by the suspect.
Following the armed robbery, the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was wearing a white shirt, pink hoodie, black pants, and black shoes with white soles. No other details are available at this time.
