The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting at the Speedway store at 3579 N.C. 43 North just north of Greenville. Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot around 3:40 p.m. on October 3.

At the scene, officers found one shooting victim. The victim was transported to ECU Health. At this time, the victim’s condition is not known. It is believed that the incident is isolated and there is no danger to the public.

Major Crimes and Forensic Unit detectives responded to the scene. No other details are available at this time.
