Pierce County, Washington – The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the possible homicide of an adult Hispanic male. According to a PCSD statement, the man, who is in his mid-30s, was located off a walking path at the Parkland Prairie Nature Preserve around 7:36 a.m. on January 5, 2025.

Citizens called the Sheriff’s Department for a welfare check. At the scene, responding deputies found the man deceased.

Authorities say the cause of death was considered suspicious in nature. Detectives and Forensics are working to determine what happened.

The victim has not been identified at this time.
