Denver Police Department received a report of a stolen phone on December 6, 2023. The owner tracked the alleged thief on a motorcycle to a hotel located in the 3000 block of W. 49^th Avenue in Denver, Colorado.

Officers arrived at the scene as the suspect was preparing to flee on a motorcycle. Seeing the path blocked by the police, the suspect broke a window and climbed through it to access the motel room. Officers outside heard the toilet inside the hotel being repeatedly flushed.

The 45-year-old male suspect was apprehended. A 24-year-old female who had active warrants was also arrested. Officers recovered a large quantity of what is suspected to be methamphetamine in the toilet bowl. The same substance stored in a gallon-sized bag was found in the bathtub. Two guns were found hidden inside the toilet tank.

The stolen phone was returned to the victim.
