Peoria Police attempting to identify suspect after 19-year-old victim shot in the leg

The Peoria Police Department is attempting to identify an alleged shooter after a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg. PPD reports that its officers responded to the 2300 block of West Starr following a 10-round Shot Spotter alert around 11:02 p.m. on July 17, 2024.

As officers were responding to the scene, they were informed that an adult male victim was found in the 2400 block of West Starr. At the scene, officers found the 19-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The case is being investigated. No suspect information is available at this time.
