Officers with the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 800 block of Hill Street, Durley Park, to investigate a potential gang-related fight. Upon arrival at the scene, officers made contact with 38-year-old Jason Rodriguez who had an outstanding warrant. Rodriguez was arrested on a battery charge.

Officers spotted a vehicle speeding away from the park. Responding officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle not far from the park. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 21-year-old Alvaro Dimas and 33-year-old Jose Varela. Dimas and Varela were arrested for multiple firearm violations.

Officers recovered a loaded handgun and a high-capacity magazine from the vehicle.

Rodriguez, Varela, and Dimas were booked into the Ventura County Jail.
