Owensboro, Kentucky – The Owensboro Police Department has announced the arrest of 57-year-old Jeffrey Boarman of Owensboro for Arson and Assault.

According to OPD, the Owensboro Fire Department responded to a fire in the 1300 block of Locust Street around 7:30 a.m. on January 21, 2025.

Firefighters reportedly located the resident who required medical attention due to a small head injury and a small fire inside the residence.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. OFD determined that the fire was suspicious and contacted OPD.

OPD’s Criminal Investigation Division says that Boarman assaulted the victim and intentionally started the fire inside the home. Boarman was taken into custody on an unrelated arrest warrant on January 22, 2025.

Following an interview with detectives, Boarman was charged with Arson 1st Degree and Assault 2nd Degree.
