Otsego County, New York – The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting investigation.
According to OCSO, 32-year-old Ryley W. Decker was arrested after OCSO and the New York State Police responded to the Wells Bridge Fire Department for a report of a passenger of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.
OCSO says the investigation determined that the victim was attempting to help a friend move out of a residence in the Town of Unadilla. Decker allegedly intentionally discharged a round from a shotgun at the victim.
Authorities say the victim was transported to the Wells Bridge Fire Department by a friend and 911 was called. The victim was transported by LifeNet to Upstate Medical Center for treatment.
OCSO says Decker was located at his place of employment and taken into custody by the New York State Police. A search of his residence allegedly revealed additional evidence of crime.
Decker is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Aggravated Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Assault in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree. No other details are available at this time.
