A man is behind bars in connection to a murder that occurred on Saturday night. The Oswego City Police Department reports that its officers responded to 30 West Schuyler Street for a welfare complaint around 8:37 p.m. on July 13, 2024.

Police were informed that an unconscious female needed medical attention. At the scene, officers met members of the Oswego Fire Department who said the victim was deceased. OPD’s investigation was assisted by the New York State Police and the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office.

OPD arrested 35-year-old Ricky Colon who has been charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
