The Oroville Police Department is actively searching for a suspect in connection to a shooting at Motel 6 around 9 a.m. on August 14, 2024. OPD says the suspect has been identified as 45-year-old Jacob Marmon of Oroville.

Authorities have obtained an arrest warrant for Marmon who is described as a white male around 150 pounds and 5’9. OPD says the shooting was an isolated incident between two people.

There is no threat to the public. Anyone with information is asked to call OPD’s Investigations Division at 530-538-2444. Anyone who sees Marmon should call 911.
