A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Lincoln City, Oregon. Oregon State Police is investigating the deadly shooting. Authorities say that the Lincoln Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between a man and a woman at the Motel 6 at 3517 NW Highway 101 around 12:22 p.m. on Saturday.
LCPD says officers reached the scene and identified the suspect who had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The occupants of the room appeared to be linked to a stolen vehicle in the parking lot, according to authorities.
Police say officers made contact with the male suspect who was noncompliant. Authorities claim the suspect had two firearms in his waistband. When he allegedly reached for one, he was shot by officers.
The man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The suspect’s name is not being released at this time. Oregon State Police will be handling the investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
