The Ontario Provincial Police have reported that an officer has been shot and one person has been taken into custody in relation to an ongoing investigation. On June 12, 2024, an OPP officer was injured during an interaction on an island on Night Hawk Lake in the Timmins area.
The officer was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. OPP reports that 43-year-old Lucas MacDonald of Egan Township was taken into custody. OPP insists there is no threat to the public.
