The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has announced rape charges against a Mannford Police Officer. On March 5, 2024, the Mannford Police Department requested the OSBI assist with an investigation into alleged sexual abuse. OSBI agents say they identified the suspect as 42-year-old James Matthew Waltman, who is a Mannford Police officer.

Waltman was also employed by Mannford Public Schools as a school resource officer. OSBI says it was learned that Waltman allegedly engaged inappropriately with a student, including providing the student with alcohol while employed at the school.

On the evening of March 5, 2024, Waltman was arrested and booked into the Creek County Jail on charges of First-Degree Rape and Providing Alcohol to Person Under 21 Years Old.
