An Ohio man has been arrested and charged with one count of stalking, criminal trespass, and harassment. The 42-year-old man is accused of stalking a Murrysville, Pennsylvania resident. The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office reported that Anthony Carpenter was arrested on May 21, 2024 after Murrysville Police were notified of a stalking incident in progress.
Police allege that Carpenter had shown up at the victim’s residence several times and sent letters to the victim. The victim explained to police that they were in a band and Carpenter was described as an obsessed fan.
Several “no trespassing” signs were on the property, but Carpenter was allegedly caught on video walking around the victim’s property. In letters to the victim, Carpenter professed his love and admiration for them. He also claimed he would not stop until they were together.
In April, the victim sought criminal charges against Carpenter for trespassing. Days later, officers found him sleeping at Chambers Park where he claimed he was so he could profess his love for the victim.
Carpenter was taken into custody at a nearby McDonald’s and is now being held in the Westmoreland County Prison.
