Around 10 AM, emergency services responded to a shopping center on Main Road in Cardiff for reports of an injured child. Police were informed that a man riding an electric scooter had lost control before the scooter crashed into a 4-year-old girl. The man retrieved the scooter and fled the scene.
New South Wales Ambulance paramedics arrived at the scene and treated the 4-year-old girl for a broken leg and a laceration to her face. The toddler was taken to John Hunter Hospital where she is expected to undergo surgery.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who may be able to assist with their inquiries. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
