The Allentown Police Department has arrested a Northampton man in connection to the robbery of the Corner Mart on Emmaus. APD reports that officers responded to the Corner Mart in the 2400 block of Emmaus for an armed robbery around 5:50 p.m. on May 10, 2024.
It was determined that a man wearing a facemask had entered the store with a gun and demanded money. The suspect fled in an unknown direction. Criminal Investigations Division detectives responded, developed, and identified a suspect in the case.
Around 3 p.m. on May 11, patrol division officers found the suspect and took him into custody. APD says the suspect was in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest. 39-year-old Paul Steiner is charged with Robbery, Person Not to Possess a Firearm, Firearms not to be Carried Without a License, Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, and Receiving Stolen Property.
