The Norman Police Department is currently investigating the deaths of two toddlers. NPD reports that its officers responded to a request for a welfare check to a stopped vehicle in the 1000 block of West Brooks Street around 3 p.m. on Thursday.

At the scene, responding officers found two children inside the vehicle. Both children are two. NPD confirms that both toddlers were deceased. At this time, it is believed that the children were accidentally left in the vehicle for an extended period of time and later located by family.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. No other details are available at this time.
