Norman Police Department arrests 25-year-old in shooting on West Main Street

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a shooting on West Main Street in Norman, Oklahoma. The Norman Police Department reports that officers responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of West Main Street around 8 p.m. on June 10, 2024.

At the scene, officers determined that several shots were fired during a disturbance. The suspect fled the scene with the firearm. No injuries were reported to authorities. NPD officers set up a perimeter and located the suspect.

25-year-old Shawn Richmond was taken into custody following a foot pursuit. Richmond was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on complaints of Obstruction, Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated, and Public Intoxication.

NPD confirms a firearm was recovered.
