Update – NOPD says there are 12 victims in total. A ninth victim from the first shooting arrived at an area hospital via private conveyance.

Original – The New Orleans Police Department reports that it is investigating two incidents, a shooting and a homicide. In total, there were 11 gunshot wound victims with two fatalities.

NOPD says officers in the 1800 block of Almonaster Avenue heard gunfire and responded around 3:38 p.m. on Sunday.

At the scene, officers found eight victims suffering from gunshot wounds, according to authorities. The individuals were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Around 45 minutes later, officers responded to another report of gunfire at the intersection of Almonaster and Florida avenues. At the scene, officers found two victims. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

NOPD says the second victim passed away at an area hospital. A third victim sought treatment at an area hospital and is in stable condition.
