Update – The Newport News Police Department has clarified that the juvenile male was the victim transported to the hospital from the scene. The other adult male was driven to the hospital by another citizen. Both are hospitalized at this time. 18-year-old Rey’ll Parks of Hampton was pronounced as the deceased victim.

Original Story – The Newport News Police Department said it was investigating a triple shooting that occurred at 74th Street and Roanoke Avenue. Around 10:52 a.m. on December 21, 2023, NNPD officers responded to the report of a shooting at the aforementioned location.

Once officers reached the scene, they found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. A juvenile male later arrived at a hospital for treatment. The third shooting victim’s injuries are potentially life-threatening.
