The Newport News Police Department said in a press release that it was investigating a homicide on 28th Street. According to NNPD, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of 28th Street around 9:45 p.m. on December 17, 2023. Once officers reached the scene, they located an adult male outside with multiple gunshot wounds.
