New York State Police are investigating reports of Halloween candy containing razor blades. On social media, NYSP confirmed that its troopers were investigating the reports. NYPS says the candy was reportedly collected in the Village of Bainbridge in Chenango County on Halloween night.

NYSP has also provided safety precautions to ensure children are safe. NYPD urges parents to do the following.

• Double-check the candy collected by children
• Inspect the wrapper and contents carefully
• Be vigilant for signs of tampering
