New Orleans Police looking for Joseph Davis in connection to sexual assaults of two women

The New Orleans Police Department is searching for a suspect allegedly involved in two sexual assaults. NOPD reports that its Sex Crimes Unit and detectives are searching for a suspect accused of sexually assaulting two women who were walking or jogging on the Lafitte Greenway on May 23, 2024.

NOPD says the first incident occurred at North Broad and St. Louis Street around 7:10 a.m. The second incident occurred around 12:23 p.m. in the 3700 block of Conti Street. The victims described the assailant as a dark-skinned black male wearing dark clothing and riding a bike.

Detectives say they identified the suspect as Joseph C. Davis. NOPD is currently searching for Davis who is being sought on charges of Attempted First-Degree Rape and Simple Assault. Anyone with information about Davis’s whereabouts should contact NOPD Sex Crimes at 504-658-5523 or Crime Stoppers at 504-822-1111.

NOPD is also asking other females who have been attacked or encountered the suspect to contact the Sex Crimes Unit at 504-658-5523.
