The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of February 7, 2024 at the intersection of Dauphine Street and Lamanche Street. According to a NOPD media release, Fifth District officers responded to a call of a death at the aforementioned location.

At the scene, officers found an unresponsive male lying in the street having sustained at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. No additional details are available at this time.
