The New Orleans Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that happened on the afternoon of December 28 in the 3500 block of Johnny Jackson Jr. Boulevard and left one person deceased. Around 1:04 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to a call of a person shot at the aforementioned location.

At the scene, officers found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Detectives say the victim was in a vehicle when a dark-colored sedan pulled up and fired multiple shots at him.

Investigators are working to identify the person responsible for the shooting. At this time, no additional details are available. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of death and identify the victim.
