New Orleans Police investigating after four men were shot on Friday

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting that claimed the lives of two men and injured two others. According to a NOPD news release, Fifth District officers responded to a call of a shooting near the intersection of AP Tureaud Avenue and North Roman Street around 12:54 p.m. on March 22, 2024. At the scene, responding officers found an adult male with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Three other male victims with gunshot wounds were transported to an area hospital. One of those victims passed away as well. NOPD says a white truck drove up and opened fire on the victims. The suspected truck was found abandoned in the 2200 block of Port Street and is being processed for evidence.

Investigators are working to identify the suspects and a motive for the shooting. No other details are available at this time.
