The New Orleans Police Department quickly apprehended a murder suspect following a fatal stabbing on Bourbon Street. According to NOPD, a suspect was arrested in a homicide that occurred on April 2 and left one man dead.
Around 12:20 a.m., NOPD officers responded to the 600 block of Bourbon Street for a call of an aggravated battery by cutting. At the scene, officers and detectives found a known male lying on the sidewalk with at least one stab wound. New Orleans EMS arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives say they determined that Darnell Hunter was the perpetrator in the fatal stabbing. Hunter was arrested on one count of second-degree Murder and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
