A 39-year-old man is dead following a shooting in New Castle. Tonight, the New Castle Police Department is investigating the death of 39-year-old Omar Javarty Hakim. NCPD officers responded to the area of East Moody Avenue and Carlisle Street in reference to gunshots heard on April 21, 2024. At the scene, officers found a green Chevrolet Tahoe with a deceased victim in the driver’s seat.
NCPD says there were six gunshot holes in the front driver’s door window. The rear passenger side door was also shattered. Police believe this was caused by a round that was fired inside and exited out of this window. Detectives are investigating the homicide at this time.
