Naugatuck Police arrest man for breach of peach and resisting arrest for allegedly refusing to leave banquet hall

A New York man has been arrested after refusing to leave a banquet hall. The Naugatuck Police Department reports that its officers responded to the Crystal Room on School Street around 10 p.m. on June 1, 2024 after receiving a complaint of a person refusing to leave.

At the scene, NPD officers encountered 48-year-old William McDaniel who had a facial injury but refused medical treatment. NPD claims Crystal Room staff asked McDaniel to leave due to his behavior and level of intoxication.

Police began to help McDaniel find a ride home. However, he allegedly became irate and uncooperative. McDaniel allegedly resisted arrest but was eventually placed in handcuffs and arrested.

McDaniel has been charged with Breach of Peace in the 2nd Degree and Interfering with an Officer/Resisting Arrest.
