The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Monday. According to a media release, 16-year-old Henry C. Taylor was fatally shot in the 500 block of Lemont Drive.

Responding officers found the victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. MNPD says evidence at the scene indicates there was an exchange of gunfire between separate parties. The victim was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
