The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has announced the arrest of a convicted felon following a shootout on March 8. According to an MNPD media release, a convicted felon is back in jail after being arrested on outstanding warrants in connection to the March 8 shootout in the J.C. Napier community.
44-year-old Jozmel Hugger is accused of shooting at the victim following a verbal argument. Authorities say the victim returned fire. A private vehicle transported the victim to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
On March 11, detectives apprehended Hugger on Charles E. Davis Boulevard and he was allegedly in possession of a handgun. MNPD says Hugger had been convicted of aggravated robbery in 2004. He is charged with attempted criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of felony gun possession.
Hugger remains in jail with a $710,000 bond.
