Metropolitan Nashville Police Department detectives are trying to find a man who is wanted on nine outstanding warrants in connection to multiple thefts downtown. MNPD alleges that 32-year-old Joshua Ray Cloyd victimized intoxicated victims on Lower Broadway by stealing phones, wallets, and credit cards.
MNPD says a victim had his iPhone 14 stolen last November. On the same day, the victim’s Cash App transferred money to an account registered to Cloyd. The money was then used to pay for a motel room in Madison. On January 12, another victim reported that his iPhone and credit cards were stolen from his rear pockets while at a bar on Broadway.
The victim reportedly tracked his stolen phone to a different hotel in Madison. His credit cards had been used to make purchases in the same area at ATMs and gas stations. MNPD says Cloyd is facing charges of computer violation fraud, credit card fraud, and theft. Anyone with information about Cloyd’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
