Morrison County Sheriff’s Office investigating after runaway juvenile leads to fatal shooting

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating a fatal shooting. Around 3:30 p.m. on October 2, 2024, MCSO and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension were investigating at a residence in the 1700 block of Casselberry Road in reference to an endangered juvenile runaway.

The juvenile was located at the residence in question. As investigators were speaking to an adult male who lived at the residence, the man allegedly retreated into a back bedroom. Investigators say they heard one gunshot from inside the bedroom.

Everyone was escorted out of the house. Assistance was requested from the St. Cloud Police Department. Eventually, an SCPD SWAT Team entered the residence and found a deceased male inside the bedroom.

Authorities believe the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time, the juvenile remains in the care of Morrison County. No officers fired their weapons and no one else was injured. No other details are available at this time.
