Moreno Valley teacher Salvador Martinez arrested for public intoxication on school grounds

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has announced that an MVUSD teacher has been arrested for public intoxication. Deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 13000 block of Nason Street after a report of a teacher being intoxicated while on school grounds around 10:25 AM on December 9, 2023.

According to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, a parent informed school administration that a teacher conducting Saturday school was possibly under the influence. Authorities say Saturday school consisted of at least 25 students. The teacher was identified as 30-year-old Salvador Martinez.

Martinez was arrested for public intoxication and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Authorities say they made the decision to arrest Martinez based on his statements and behavior. Martinez was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.

According to records from the Jail Information Management System, Martinez was released on December 9, 2023 and is scheduled to be in court on December 13, 2023.
